Hiking in California has made me fall in love with the Autumn season. I’ve always preferred Springtime. Living here has changed everything.
In Texas, walking outside was rarely a pleasurable experience. The oppressive heat. The irritating bugs. The general feel of the place was unsettling to me.
Here in the North Bay of San Francisco, California, I can’t be outside enough. There are so many places to explore, especially in and around our town in Southern Marin. The weather is phenomenal. Yes, we get lots of rain. It turns everything green. The waterfalls are exceptional.
I give gratitude every day for the tremendous blessing to live in this space.
Today, I decided to check out a spot across the water from Blackie’s Pasture, another one of my favorite hiking trails. Much to my delight, there were trails that led through a dense canopy of trees as well as along the water’s edge. What a delight!
I really think I could have fallen asleep right on top of those leaves. The fear of being discovered mixed with the likelihood of animal excrement and no blanket on hand kept me moving along… this time.
Wishing you happy trails and colorful leaves on your path.
