Happy Birthday, Dr. Jane Goodall

“If you really want something, and really work hard, and take advantage of opportunities, and never give up, you will find a way.” – Jane Goodall

In honor of the remarkable Dr. Jane Goodall and her 80th birthday today, I give so much gratitude. Her work has made an immeasurable difference for chimpanzees and the entire animal kingdom. And she’s still going strong, using her voice every day to speak on behalf of those who can’t, to fight for justice and compassion for all beings on this planet. I’m so glad I was fortunate enough to grow up following her career and learning from her. She is a beautiful example of passion coupled with compassion. I aspire to be  more like her. Let me be the light that shines for others to see the way to comfort, peace, and most of all, love.

Dave Matthews with Jane Goodall

Here she is with my favorite musician, Dave Matthews. I found this photograph on the internet years ago, but have no idea who to credit.

The greatest teaching from Dr. Goodall, in my humble opinion, is the value of respecting all other beings. It’s the genuine respect that encompasses non-harmful practices at all times in regard to the interaction and habitat of our fellow beings, plants, and world.

Happy Birthday, Dr. Jane Goodall! Thank you for your gifts of love and for being a truly great role model for so many generations.
